French media leader TF1 is first-to-market using G2’s MarginMaker sports betting systems
09-07-2010 (London, UK) – When France officially opened up its online gaming market last month, SPS Betting France was one of a handful of operators licensed to take fixed odds wagers on sports like football, tennis and rugby. Their online sports betting site EurosportBET.fr went live on day one of the opening of the French market, running its operation on GTECH G2’s MarginMaker sports betting solution. The French site deploys the same technology as the company’s successful UK site, eurosportbet.co.uk, which launched a year ago.
EurosportBET.fr is the commercial brand of SPS SA ,a subsidiary of Eurosport, fully owned by the French media leader TF1. Mostly known for operating the largest European free TV channel, the TF1 Group’s activities cover the whole of the audiovisual industry: upstream in production, acquisition and sale of audiovisual rights and also distribution of feature films to cinemas. SPS SA and its subsidiary SPS Betting (Alderney) Ltd. were both created in 2008 and are based in Paris and Alderney.
The launch of the French version of the site is significant in that it was a joint effort whereby EurosportBET programming team used G2 MarginMaker’s public APIs in order to implement their own version of the web site.
“We share the success of our launch in France with everyone at G2 Finsoft who supported us in this development, ,” said Frédéric Tardieu, SPS Director of Program Management. “In the last months, through efficient teamwork, we found solutions, optimizations and solved many issues together.”
MarginMaker is a product of sports betting software & games specialist Finsoft, now part of GTECH G2. Its MarginMaker platform provides clients with a full end to end sports betting solution supporting fixed odds, pools and spread betting on any sport, across all channels (call centre, internet, mobile and retail) and for any business model (betting, gaming exchanges). MarginMaker now supports sports betting operations globally, in the UK and Ireland, Singapore, Spain, Chile, Serbia and Romania and has demonstrated its ability to handle any sport and almost any bet type available worldwide.
